Trinity Yoga Training Intensive
Our in-depth 200 hour Trinity Yoga Training Intensive will deepen your personal practice and give you the tools to teach from your own body knowledge, personal experience, and interests. You will learn the many facets of teaching yoga, from asana and pranayama to the internal practices of stilling the mind and attuning to the subtleties of the energy body. Knowledge comes not only from theories or prescribed methods but from on-going practice and exploration. As an integrated practice on and off the mat, this training becomes a catalyst for physical healing, psychological growth and spiritual awakening. We are a Kripalu Yoga affiliated school, and you will receive accreditation with Yoga Alliance, and also with the Kripalu Center, a unique opportunity. The Kripalu style of yoga deeply influences our Trinity Yoga Training Intensive, with a wonderful foundation in personal development and practical practice.
Curriculum
The Curriculum includes the components required by Yoga Alliance for certification. In addition, this unique experiential course includes an in-depth personal development. We will journey through the classic 3-stages of a Kripalu practice ; 1-Attention to detail and alignment, 2- Wilful holding, and 3- Surrender. The course will challenge the student to honestly assess where they are in life (Stage 1), build awareness and intensity while holding (Stage 2), and finally surrender (Stage 3), surrender in to a flow, of postures and of life.
Philosophy
Includes an introduction to Yoga Philosophy, Patanjali's Eight Fold Path of Ashtanga Yoga, the Bhagavad Gita, Chakras, chanting and meditation.
Asanas
You will learn 30 introductory level postures in-depth including benefits and contraindications; Kripalu Press Point technology; a full range of warm-ups and adaptations to support a variety of yoga students including; athletes, prenatal, injuries, and more.
Pranayama
Students will learn four yoga foundational breathing practices and how to apply them to a yoga practice. We will also explore how the energy body relates to the breath, and why you would develop a deepening pranayama practice.
Anatomy and Physiology
The curriculum covers traditional Anatomy and Physiology including the skeletal and muscular systems. We will also look at the cardiovascular system, nervous system, digestion and elimination, and more. In addition we will explore the energy body, and how its non-physical components influence our physical body and well being.
Teaching Methodology
The teaching methodology covers: how to assist, leading stage 1 postures (wilful, eyes open focused practice), creating a centering, basic meditation techniques, cultivating spiritual maturity as a yoga teacher, sequencing, a Beginner's Series - Level 1, a Beginner's Series - Level 2, the principles of delivery, the philosophy of touch.
Prerequisites
We suggest students have a minimum of 2 years yoga experience and/or at least 6 months with a certified instructor. However, each student will be assessed individually based on their commitment to their practice, their objectives and experience.
Tuition and Application Procedures
Tuition for this program is $3,295 (+GST). Tuition includes class instruction, e-mail study groups, a 30 class punchcard for yoga classes - available from the time of your deposit until December 31st (a $300 value add on), individual one on one mentoring, all handouts, course activities, a yoga teacher training manual, various yoga study books, a certificate upon completion, and a one year Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association membership.
The Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association (KYTA) has more than 2,200 members and provides business tools, inspirational newsletters and CD's, an annual conference, access to grants, insurance resources, online support, and more.
Students must fill out and submit an application form. Upon acceptance into the program, a $300 deposit is required, of which $25 is non-refundable. The balance of payment is due at the start of the training program. Other payment plans may be considered for applicants with special circumstances.
